Instagram data has been used to reveal the UK’s most beautiful waterfront restaurants, thanks to research compiled by the swimwear experts at Pour Moi.
Analysing Instagram hashtag data, they have discovered the country’s 15 most idyllic waterfront restaurants.
1 – Riley’s Fish Shack, Tynemouth
Riley’s Fish Shack in Tynemouth is the UK’s most beautiful waterfront restaurant, with 7,282 images shared on Instagram.
Based in Tynemouth, North Shields, Riley’s Fish Shack has a reputation among locals as being the go-to place for quality locally sourced food.
You can enjoy the local produce whilst looking out at the stunning King Edward’s Bay.

2 – Paul Ainsworth No. 6, Padstow
Paul Ainsworth No. 6 is the UK’s second most beautiful waterfront restaurant after being posted nearly 6,200 times on Instagram. The charming Michelin-star restaurant is located in a Georgian townhouse in the heart of Padstow, Cornwall, serving fresh local produce.
3 – Rockfish, Plymouth
The third most beautiful waterfront restaurant in the UK is Rockfish in Plymouth, with 5,400 Instagram posts admiring the award-winning restaurant.
Serving classic seaside food, you can’t go wrong with cod, chips and mushy peas accompanied by the gorgeous views of the harbour whilst you eat.

4 – The Sportsman, Whitstable
The Sportsman in Whitstable, Kent claims the prize as the fourth most beautiful waterfront restaurant in the UK with just under 5,300 Instagram posts sharing the gastropub. The Michelin-star restaurant uses local oysters and fish from the North Sea behind it, and meat, vegetables and game from the marshland in front of it.
5 – The Salt Room, Brighton
Completing the top five most beautiful restaurants in the UK is The Salt Room in Brighton with just under 4,250 images shared on Instagram of the establishment.
Concentrating on using sustainable ingredients and cooking them over coal, the restaurant boasts uninterrupted views of Brighton seafront and the iconic West Pier ruins.
