A travel influencer who previously campaigned for larger plane seats is now asking hotels to enlarge their hallways too.

Jaelynn Chaney hit headlines after pushing for companies to be more inclusive when it comes to larger people. The lifestyle content creator, from Canada, wants to make travelling more accessible to people of every size.

And now, Jaelynn has asked hotels to change their layout to make holidays more comfortable for plus sized travellers. In a video, she demanded that hotels: "Make elevators and hallways spacious, to allow for easy movement of larger individuals and those utilising mobility devices."

Essentially, she wants hotels to be more accessible for the disabled and plus sized. But, she didn’t stop there with her requests.

Jaelynn also asked hotels to raise their toilet seats and fit each room with handheld shower heads to make using the facilities easier for larger people. Plus, she asked for handrails on swimming pools and sturdier chairs.

Jaelynn also demanded the beds be stronger to avoid them breaking, size inclusive dressing gowns – or bathrobes as she calls them – that go up to a 6XL and larger towels on request. It seems the regular sized towels just aren’t large enough.

All of the influencers demands were to make going on holiday more comfortable and easier for plus sized bodies – as they often don’t cater to people outside of the standard range. But, her requests were served with mixed reactions.

Some people completely agreed with the influencer stating: "I agree this is ideal, but some of these are out of the hotel's control. Lift size, for example." While another added that they "backed her 100%".

But, others disagreed and suggested that the travel industry would not change to accommodate her size. One person commented: "How are you gonna ask for things to change but you refuse to change yourself."

While another added: "I agree with some but others are just not possible. The amount of money it will take to make all of these changes is unreal."

Previously, the influencer asked the Federal Aviation Authority in the US to make flying in economy "comfortable and accessible for everyone," including "larger people". Chaney claims she was left "bruised" and in "pain" due immovable arm rest during a flight, and also spoke generally of the "discrimination" she faces as a plus sized traveller.

In her change.org petition she stated: "During a flight from Pasco to Denver, my fiancé was subjected to hateful comments, disapproving looks, and even refusal to sit next to them, amounting to discrimination. Similarly, on another flight, I was forced to occupy only one seat with immovable armrests that caused me pain and bruises."

She added the "mistreatment of plus-size passengers is unacceptable" and highlighted the need for "better policies that protect the dignity and rights of all passengers". However, that request also received mixed reactions – and trolling comments.
