Many Brits love a staycation – you get a break away with your loved ones without the faff of flights and passports. There are thousands of private apartments and cottages to rent around the UK – but they can be expensive.

That’s one of the reasons why plenty of families opt for budget holiday parks. Butlin’s is one of the biggest in the nation and kids and adults alike love spending the week there.

Now, there’s going to be even more opportunities for a Butlin’s break available, as the company is opening up some pretty swanky new lodges for families.

In fact, its Skegness resort will be getting 128 brand-new premium lodges next year. Open in time for May half term 2024, the new £12million accommodation project will be available to guests on family breaks and adult only Big Weekenders.

The premium lodges will be situated in the brand-new Maple Walk village, a peaceful area just five minutes from the heart of the main resort where guests have full access to the entertainment venues, facilities, activities on offer and a Skylark playground.

The village will have a fun play area for little ones and up to six people can sleep in each lodge. The luxury lodges will each have three bedrooms including a main bedroom with king sized bed and en-suite shower room, two twin rooms, a fully equipped kitchen with full sized fridge freezer, microwave and hob.

There will also be private decking on each lodge with outdoor furniture and parking space for two cars directly outside the accommodation. Amongst the lodges are adapted units suitable for wheelchair users.

WiFi, tea and coffee making facilities, towels and housekeeping are also included in the price. You’ll still have full access to the park so you can enjoy the swimming pools, fairground and exclusive shows.

There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy in Skegness. You can pick from high rises to the climbing wall, go-karts and laser tag, bowling, arts and crafts and Splash Waterworld – a fun water park with slides and flumes.

Renovated in 2018, the pool has nearly 3000 square metres of fun, with high-speed flumes, racing rapids, a pool for toddlers and a winding vortex slide that sends you spinning into a giant bowl.

Jon Hendry Pickup, CEO at Butlin’s said: "We’re delighted to announce even more investment to our Skegness resort. If you’re looking for a bit of peace and quiet, but still want to be close to the action, then our new premium lodges bring you the best of both worlds.

"Our new accommodation village Maple Walk will be beautifully landscaped and we’re sure the 128 well-equipped premium lodges will be very popular with guests staying on both our family breaks and Big Weekenders. We continue to invest in Skegness and our luxury lodges follow the new look fairground and £2.5million playground SKYPARK which opened earlier this year."
