Mia Khalifa has delivered her verdict on what the sexiest thing a man can do is.

The social media influencer’s claims come in the wake of her courting controversy regarding the conflict between Hamas and Israel. Her past words, which included “freedom fighters in Palestine to flip their phones and film horizontal,” saw her dropped from her deal with Playboy.

Posting on the social media platform known as X, she noted that, “the sexiest thing a man can do is wear a keffiyeh”. The keffiyeh is a square scarf, often made out of cotton and worn on the head by men in the Middle East.

It serves as protection from the sun and is also valuable in sandstorms as a means to cover the eyes and mouth. It is worn commonly by Arabs, Kurds and Yazidis, although variations of it are found from region to region.

Often, it is tied around the top with a piece of rope called an agal, which helps fix the keffiyeh in place on the head of the wearer. The Keffiyeh is a national symbol of Palestine, which is currently torn apart by conflict following terrorist group Hamas’s incursion into neighbouring Israel, which has subsequently seen Israel bomb and enter Gaza.

Some 1,400 Israelis were killed in the initial October 7 incursion, while reports claim roughly 13,000 Palestinians have died since. The extreme tension surrounding the situation, and the high level of division it has been accompanied by around the globe meant it was no surprise the comments section of Mia’s politically charged post was met with trolls.

One vile image that has been used to target Mia in recent days is a photograph of her sitting on a sofa edited in front of a number of IDF troops.

Many of the comments came back criticising Mia’s approach, with one person writing: “stop sexualizing everything please.” Many of the others were based in an overtly sexist or aggressive tone.
