{"id":118544,"date":"2023-08-27T21:54:17","date_gmt":"2023-08-27T21:54:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gendermyn.com\/?p=118544"},"modified":"2023-08-27T21:54:17","modified_gmt":"2023-08-27T21:54:17","slug":"cheers-as-abusive-audience-members-are-kicked-out-of-grease-musical-by-cops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gendermyn.com\/world-news\/cheers-as-abusive-audience-members-are-kicked-out-of-grease-musical-by-cops\/","title":{"rendered":"Cheers as abusive audience members are kicked out of Grease musical by cops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police were forced to escort boisterous audience members out of the theatre after they got rowdy during Grease the Musical.<\/p>\n<p>Cops were called to a \u201cdisturbance\u201d on the balcony at the Dominion Theatre in London\u2019s West End yesterday (August 26).<\/p>\n<p>A commotion was captured on video as the show was interrupted with security forced to step in.<\/p>\n<p><b> READ MORE: Cheers as disruptive audience members are chucked out of Grease the Musical by cops <\/b><\/p>\n<p>As police escorted the culprits out of the building, other theatre-goers erupted into applause and chants of: &quot;Out, out, out!&quot;<\/p>\n<p>An officer can be seen stooping down to speak to a man and a woman in the audience, while another officer then appears to gesture to another couple to leave.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30800582.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_West-End-Theatre-In-London.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>It is understood that around eight officers from the Metropolitan Police in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>According to The Mirror, seats on the balcony cost between \u00a359.50 and \u00a3150 each.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Met Police said: &quot;Shortly before 8.40pm on Saturday, August 26, police received reports of two men and two women causing a disturbance at a theatre in Tottenham Court Road, W1.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOfficers attended and the group were escorted from the premises. No arrests. No injuries reported.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Two police cars and a police van were pictured outside the theatre with their blue lights flashing.<\/p>\n<p>It is not known what caused the ruckus, however, someone commented on the clip claiming that it was due to someone being \u201crude, abusive, and refusing to leave\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>They said: &quot;No one seems to know (what happened) but bar staff claimed they&apos;d been rude or abusive and just wouldn&apos;t leave and kept on arguing, guessing too much drink.&quot;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30800579.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_Grease-The-Musical-Press-Night-Curtain-Call.jpg\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<figure data-mod=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30800208.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s458\/1_Twitter.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p> Brit tourists flee as extreme storms send sunbeds flying and spark flash floods<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/@trinitymirrordigital\/chameleon-branding\/publications\/dailystar\/img\/logo-schema-dailystar.png\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In another incident in a second theatre in London during a showing of The Crucible, another fight broke out.<\/p>\n<p>One person tweeted: \u201cBizarre at London theatre last night: First, a fight breaks out as couple in aisle seats refuse to stand to let people pass them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLater, different fight as people accuse a couple of talking through the play.
