A police investigation is under way after a teenager was raped in broad daylight.

An alleyway in Bradford has been cordoned off while West Yorkshire Police look into the horrific incident involving an 18-year-old girl.

The attack took place at 5.45pm on Friday, September 10, Yorkshire Live reports.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "A scene is in place in Market Street, Wibsey while enquiries continue and an 18-year-old woman is being supported by specially trained officers."

The sight of the cordon has reportedly caused a lot of concern with residents in the local area.

Police have been guarding the crime scene, with forensic officers not yet dispatched.

Earlier this month, police launched a manhunt after a child was sexually assaulted in a park.

The victim was targeted in Halton Community Centre park in Lancaster, Lancashire, around 5.30pm on Tuesday, September 7.

The offender approached the boy while he was playing and got him to follow him into a wooded area before carrying out the attack.

He is described as male, white, possibly a teenager, wearing a white polo shirt with buttons down the front, black trousers and black trainers.
