The evil stepmum of murdered Star Hobson has allegedly been put in a separation unit to protect her from being attacked by other prisoners.

Killer Savannah Brockhill, 28, is being held in the isolated wing at HMP Styal in Cheshire to stop other inmates from stabbing her.

Brockhill was sentenced to life with a minimum of 25 years in prison after being found guilty of murdering her 16-month-old stepdaughter.

The little girl’s mother, Frankie Smith, was slapped with an eight-year sentence for causing or allowing the death of a child after she was cleared of murder.

A source told MailOnline : "Brockhill has been put in separation in Styal for her own protection.

"She’ll be the number one target there. Prisoners will be queuing up to try and shank her."

Brockhill has been targeted by some of her inmates at the 486-population prison following news about the campaign of torture she inflicted on the toddler for several months.

Star tragically died from "utterly catastrophic" injuries, which she received at her home in Keighley, West Yorkshire on September 22, 2020.

Bradford Crown Court heard how the little girl lost 50% of blood from being "kicked or punched", and was found with injuries similar to those of car crash victims.

Prosecutors said her injuries were “caused by a severe and forceful blow or blows, either in the form of punching, stamping or kicking to the abdomen”.

It was reported that five times social workers had visited the sadistic couple, twice with police, but they disregarded complaints and left Star with them a week before her death.

After Brockhill was charged and remanded to prison, the home address of her sister was published instead of Brockhill's which led her to be brutally assaulted, the court heard.

Throughout the trial, other family members were subjected to threats which included the bullying of children and windows being smashed.

Sentencing, Judge Mrs Justice Lambert said the toddler was "caught in the crossfire" of the pairs turbulent relationship.

It was reported that the couple delayed phoning emergency services by at least 11 minutes and that the toddler had already suffered multiple injuries in the weeks leading up to her death.

She said: "The messages sent between you are petty squabbles, fights, often triggered by alcohol which descended into arguments. Star was the victim of these pointless, self-obsessed fights.

"You both behaved in a cruel and callous way to Star. You made her stand at the wall for what were just antics of a child."

The Judge added: "Frankie Smith, it was your role to protect Star from harm, you failed to protect her, allowing her death."

Smith will have to serve just two-thirds of her sentence before being considered for release.

The Attorney General has been urged to review her sentence – which the the toddler's family have called "staggeringly soft".
