Prince William wants to “repair” his relationship with Prince Harry but was “shocked” by his recent comments, a royal expert has claimed.

Earlier this month, the Duke of Sussex compared growing up in the Royal Family to “a mixture between The Truman Show and being in a zoo”.

Harry said he and Meghan Markle had left the UK to “break the cycle” for his children and escape the “pain and suffering”.

Relations between Harry and William are already thought to be strained, especially in the wake of the explosive Oprah Winfrey interview.

Harry’s new remarks, made on US actor Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert, reportedly left his brother reeling.

Nick Bullen, editor and co-founder of True Royalty TV, told US Weekly that William “is very shocked by the amount of things that his brother has said over the last few weeks”.

Mr Bullen believes “it’s going to take some time” before their relationship is mended.

He added: “I’m sure the Royal Family and the various royal households just want a moment of calm and [are saying], ‘Let’s not have any more headlines. Let’s just have a period when no one’s speaking.”

The report adds that Harry may not come over to the UK for the event after the "cold shoulder" he received after coming over for his grandfather Prince Philip's funeral.
