Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's unborn child could be the 'catalyst' in patching up any royal rift, an expert royal commentator has claimed..

According to royal writer Daniela Elser, June will most likely prove pivotal in deciding whether wounds are healed or deepened for the feuding princes.

The reason being the Harry's wife Meghan is due to have their second baby in a matter of weeks, which will apparently either make all former feuds redundant or amplify them further.

Writing for news.com.au, Ms Elser said: "In fact, the next three or so weeks could make or break whether Harry ever truly patches things up with his family.

"At some point in the very near future, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is set to give birth to her second child, a little girl, and the bub’s arrival could be the catalyst so desperately needed to bring the two men back together.

"That or things could fall even more spectacularly apart, so no pressure now.

"Babies after all have a way of bringing people together, or tearing them apart."

With almost 100 days passing since Harry and Meghan’s damning revelations and accusations of their treatment from 'The Firm', their new arrival could be exactly what is needed.

In a sensational tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, the couple who left royal duties behind with a move to California, accused the royal family of cruelty, bullying and “total neglect” of Meghan’s welfare.

Prince Harry: The Inside Story, author Duncan Larcombe believes their newborn could help bring the two sides back together.

Mr Larcombe told the Daily Beast: “The next real sign we will get of whether the thaw is continuing will come with the birth of Meghan’s daughter.

“How William and Kate respond to the birth is critical. That will be when the olive branches come out.”

Ms Elser added in her column for news.com.au, that if only one of William or Harry take this opportunity to build bridges, their divide will only get wider.

She said: "So, could the gradual process of past hurts being forgiven (or at least politely ignored) begin in the lovey dovey wake of Baby Sussex’s birth?

"Beyond that, even if this adorable bundle of joy’s birth does precipitate a certain trans-Atlantic thawing of tensions, would it be enough to really start to repair the damage of the past few years?

"Essentially what the coming weeks and the birth of the littlest Sussex present is the most fertile moment for Harry and the royal family to reconnect.

"If one or both sides don’t seize this opportunity, they all run the risk of the rift between them only becoming even more tragically entrenched."
