A pedestrian hit by two vehicles on Wednesday morning in Adams County was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The incident happened at about 6 a.m. at Pecos Street and West 72nd Avenue, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The pedestrian, a 51-year-old Northglenn man, was crossing the intersection outside of the crosswalk when he was hit, said Trooper Josh Lewis. The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The pedestrian, who was wearing dark clothing, was hit by one driver and then by a second driver, Lewis said. Investigators have talked with both drivers and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
