The husband of murdered Instagram influencer Alexis Sharkey was found dead from an apparent suicide, police have revealed.
Tom Sharkey was reportedly found with a gunshot wound to his head, just hours after he discovered he was wanted for the murder of his wife late last year.
The 26-year-old influencer was found naked having been strangled to death in November 2020.
A city worker found her body at the side of a road in Houston.
According to KHOU, Tom's body was found at a home in Florida just after 1am on Wednesday morning.
The man had reportedly been staying with his daughter and her boyfriend.
Tom learned he was wanted for the murder of his wife hours before he took his own life, homicide investigator Michael Burrow said at a press conference.
He said authorities believe that Tom acted alone in the murder of Alexis as he was the only person with a motive.
The investigator added that Tom's family did not appear to be aware of his alleged involvement in Alexis' death.

Alexis was last heard from by her friends last Thanksgiving in her and Tom's apartment, The Sun reported.
Phone calls reportedly began to go straight to voicemail after 6pm that day.
Tom put out an appeal to the public when she went missing.
He wrote: "My world! My everything! I'm so lost right now! My one and only!"
Alexis' body was tragically found on November 28 a few miles from her home with no visible injuries.
But the death was ruled a homicide in January by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Alexis allegedly told friends during a trip away that Tom was abusing her and she was going to divorce him, The Daily Beast reported.
A friend told the publication: “Throughout the trip, he was sending really awful, nasty messages to her.
“But one night when she and I were talking alone she said, ‘He strangles me and chokes me out and I blackout and wake up on the bathroom floor every single time.’”

Friends of Alexis also claimed that the couple had been arguing on the day his wife disappeared.
Tom denies ever arguing with Alexis before she disappeared , telling the publication: "There are always other sides to everything.
"I'll let it play out the way it is. I know what my life was with my wife."
It is not clear when Tom became wanted for murder and he had not yet been charged.
