A mum-of-four who went viral after she was filmed performing sex acts on a man in front of hundreds of people in Liverpool has told of her “regret” at the incident.

And, despite admitting outraging public decency, Bradford-native Kelly Cousins, 35, avoided jail when she appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

In one explicit video, the court was told, Cousins can be seen crouched on her knees and "engaged in sexual activity" on a man in view of revellers who can be heard laughing as they watched on.

The incident occurred in August, yards from the entrance of Concert Square's Einstein Bier Haus, a packed beer tent.

At the time, Liverpool mayor Joanne Anderson slammed the behaviour as "damaging and criminal".

And now, having been sentenced to 10 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to complete 40 hours of unpaid work and 25 Rehabilitation Activity days with the Probation Service, she has told of her “deep regret” for the incident.

Police have issued a warrant for the man alleged to be the man in the videos, 23-year-old Joe Firby, from Gateshead, after he failed to appear in court in September.

Speaking after her sentencing, Cousins revealed how the incident unfolded and expressed remorse: "We knew each other from the gym.

“We went on a date. Things got out of hand, this was never planned.

“I deeply regret it – I have always taken responsibility for my actions and I now just want to make a new start and put this all behind me.”

During the court case, her solicitor Heather Toohey talked about the “misogyny” involved in the press and reaction to the case.

She said: “As we have heard, there was no statement made by any member of the public, nobody made a complaint about this.

"It was the circulation of the video that alerted the police., and of course there was no victim impact statement. In fact, it can be seen that people are filming this willingly; laughing, jeering it on.

"That is the reality of what was happening there. There was two people involved in this offence, but only she is here today.

"On social media there was 'hashtag Concert Square girl' and 'hashtag Concert Square slut', all in relation to her. All of this bad press in relation to this, and I hate to say it, was driven by misogyny.

"She has been threatened with violence, she has been trolled, she has had constant disparaging comments about her looks."
