Rumours about a feud between the Duchess of Sussex and her best friend following a 'race row' appear to have been put to bed by a source who knows them both.

Meghan Markle and Canadian fashion stylist and marketing consultant Jessica Mulroney have been good mates long before the duchess married Prince Harry, and are thought to have met when the Duchess first moved to Los Angeles to film TV show Suits.

The friends are said to have bonded over a shared love of yoga, and in 2016 they even put their friendship to the ultimate test when they went on holiday together to Italy.

Last year, the royal's relationship with her stylist pal has reportedly been under strain since Jessica's involvement in a 'race row' with black influencer Sasha Exeter about Black Lives Matter.

However, a mutual friend has apparently said the two are still close pals.

The source reportedly told the Daily Mail's Richard Eden: "Meghan is in regular touch with Jessica."

"It’s just difficult now they’re in California and Jessica’s in Toronto."

In June, the stylist posted a cryptic post on Instagram about losing friends, which fans were quick to interpret as being about Meghan.

Jessica wrote: "Life changes. You lose love. You lose friends. You lose pieces of yourself that you never imagined would be gone.

"And then, without even realizing it, these pieces come back. New love enters. Better friends come along. And a stronger, wiser you, is staring back in the mirror."

Rumours about the rift between the pair continued to circulate after the stylist didn't publically send Meghan a public birthday message to mark her 40th earlier this month.

In response, Jessica implied she and the duchess still speak privately, saying: "Just because it didn’t happen on Instagram, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen."
