Elon Musk has denied accusations that he exposed himself to a woman and propositioned her for an erotic massage in exchange for a horse.

The new allegations came only days after the tech billionaire claimed he was putting his $44billion (£35billion) deal to buy Twitter 'on hold'.

Interviews and documents obtained by US news website Insider reportedly give details of an incident which took place between Musk and an unnamed flight attendant on his SpaceX corporate jet during a flight to London back in 2016.

This is said to have unfolded when Elon requested her to come to his room during a flight, where she found him "completely naked" other than a "sheet covering the lower half of his body".

He then is alleged to have "touched her" and asked her to "do more", with this referring to "the performance of sex acts." She then claims he offered to buy her a horse in return for receiving an erotic massage.

One legal document signed by the flight attendant's friend reports that she had been encouraged to attain a licence as a masseuse so she could give Musk regular massages, but she refused.

The woman reportedly hired an employment lawyer and began a complaint with HR at SpaceX in 2018 after she started to believe that the incident had limited her career at the company.

A session between her, a mediator and Musk then saw the claim stopped, with her and Musk allegedly then agreeing on a $250,000 payment (£200,000) to prevent it going to court.

Elon Musk hit back at the claims late on Thursday evening, and said in a post on Twitter that they were politically motivated.

He wrote: "The attacks against me should be viewed through a political lens – this is their standard (despicable) playbook – but nothing will deter me from fighting for a good future and your right to free speech".

A later tweet asserted that the "wild accusations" are "utterly untrue"
