Hot summer-like weather is hanging on in Denver and along the Front Range, but a cool down is expected on Monday.

Denver’s high temperature on Saturday will hit 91 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Clouds will increase during the course of the day and winds will gust to about 15 mph.

Gusty winds, low humidity and heat will elevate fire concerns Saturday in the high-mountain valleys and along parts of the Eastern Plains, the weather service said. A weak weather system will bring a few scattered showers and thunderstorms to the mountains late this afternoon and tonight. Mountain winds will be gusty and the moisture should be light.

On Sunday in Denver the high temperature will top out near 88 degrees under sunny skies, according to the weather service. Isolated storms are expected in the mountains.

On Monday, there’s a 30% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms in Denver. The high temperature in the city will be around 72 degrees and winds will gust to about 22 mph.
