As dry weather continues, elevated fire conditions are likely across much of the state Friday.

Denver and the I-25 corridor continue to see warm, sunny days, but humidity dropping and winds picking up throughout the day Friday will to increased fire danger.

Denver’s high Friday is 84 degrees. Winds will be between six and 16 mph, with gusts of up to 25 mph.

The increased fire danger is worse in the south-central part of the state, from El Paso County to the New Mexico border, where a red flag warning is in place until 7 p.m.

Winds there could reach up to 45 mph, and the humidity will be as low as 9%.

Back in Denver, Friday night will continue to be mostly cloudless and windy, with gusts of up to 21 mph. The low is 47 degrees.

Over the weekend, Denver is still expected to see a slight drop in temperatures to the high 70s. Sunny and dry weather is still expected through next week as well.
