Cassondra “Cassie” Stratton, the Colorado woman who had been missing since a Florida condo building partially collapsed last month, has been identified among those killed in the wreckage.

The body of Stratton was identified Sunday, her husband Mike Stratton’s employer, Denver firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, said Monday afternoon.

“Her husband, Mike, and family again thank everyone who prayed for Cassie over the past two weeks and reiterated their eternal gratitude to the rescue workers whose courage and determination was unmatched,” the law firm said in a statement on behalf of the family.

The death toll in the Miami-area collapse climbed to 94 on Monday, officials said. Twenty-two people remain unaccounted for, while 83 of the victims have been identified.

Mike Stratton, a veteran Colorado Democratic operative, acknowledged the dim hopes of officials finding his wife alive last week, saying “this wasn’t the miracle we prayed for.”

On June 24, Cassie and Mike were on the phone when she told him that she could see from her fourth-floor unit a hole appearing near the pool, The New York Times reported. The call then cut off as part of the building collapsed.

Officials last week said they were ending rescue efforts in the wreckage, adding that it could take weeks to sort through the rubble.
