A man allegedly threatened to blow up a McDonald's after they didn't have sauce he wanted in Iowa, US.

Robert Goldwitzer, 42, was arrested after he reportedly didn't receive the correct dip for his chicken McNuggets, the Sun reports.

He was said to have called up his local McDonald’s in Ankeny and threatened to blow up the restaurant and punch an employee over the offense.

Goldwitzer was arrested by the Ankeny Police Department on Saturday after officers responded to the number he allegedly used to make the threats.

Sergeant Corey Schneden said police called Golwitzer back at the number he allegedly used to call the McDonald's.

He is said to have admitted over the phone – and later on in person when interviewed by police – that he had made those comments.

The 42-year-old has been charged with a Class D felony, false report of explosive or incendiary device.

He was held in the Polk County Jail on Saturday and posted bail on Sunday.
