2. Morocco
Increasingly in popularity with British tourists year-on-year, Morocco is a stunning destination which offers both cultured city breaks and stunning seaside escapes.
To top it off, sun-seekers will be satisfied with the September average daily maximum temperatures hitting a sizzling 28C, and average lows of a pleasant 18C.
Those seeking hustle and bustle can enjoy a stay in the colourful city of Marrakech, which is home to plenty of stunning Riads.

3. Lanzarote
With flight times of just four hours and 10 minutes on average from the UK, Lanzarote is a dreamy September destination boasting rugged landscapes, azure waters and, of course, sizzling temperatures.
In September, holidaymakers can expect an average high of 27C during the daytime, and an average low of 20C.

4. Costa del Sol, Spain
Much like its name suggests, the Costa del Sol is a haven for those seeking a sunny escape.
Though it’s much less hot than in the peak summer months, the average daily maximum hits a toasty 25C in the region making it the perfect place for swimming in the sea, lounging by the pool or tucking away in the shade with an ice-cold cocktail.

5. South Africa
For those seeking something a little further afield, South Africa could be the perfect sunny hotspot. Given it’s a long-haul destination, prices are more expensive than UK holidays, but the summer season is just hotting up in September.
Across the country, the average maximum temperature varies from around 17C in Agulhas to 31C in Kruger National Park.
In the coastal capital of Cape Town, the average high is a pleasant 21C, perfect for sunbathing or splashing about in the sea.
