Jennifer Hudson, 39, has been commanding ~respect~ all week, while promoting her latest movie. Jennifer stars as Aretha Franklin in a new biopic, and she’s already getting plenty of rave reviews.

Then, Jennifer performed on Good Morning America and strutted her stuff in a killer Valentino ensemble. “Thank u @robinrobertsgma and @goodmorningamerica for having me yesterday ! I had such a great time!” she wrote in the caption of a recent Instagram post. Exhibit B:

Fans were blown away. “YESSSSSSSSS!!!!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽,” one fan commented, while someone else added, “love this pic can’t wait to see the movie” (which, same, tbh!).
So, just how does Jennifer stay in such great shape? In 2017, she said on the British talk show Lorraine that she lost an incredible 80 pounds, mostly by focusing on eating healthier. “I don’t really have time to do much [working out], so I really just watch what I eat,” she said about her transformation from a size 16 to a size 6.
“I’m very careful and cautious of what I’m eating, so I just try to pace those meals throughout the day. Like, okay, eat here, don’t eat here.” Jennifer added that she’s “very conscious of what I put in my body.” She also told Yahoo Style that “it’s all about portions for the most part,” noting that she’ll get rid of any foods she feels like she can’t handle having in her pantry.
Jennifer explained that she doesn’t work out a lot, but she tries to stay active anyway. Hey, if it keeps her legs looking like this:
The singer also explained how staying fit and healthy for herself has been a great motivator. “The key about losing weight: You have to do it for you,” she told People. “It’s not about even starting the journey, it’s about you. You have to want to do it. And you can’t let what everyone has to say overshadow what you want for you.”
