Enverus, which provides data and analytics for the energy industry, said Wednesday that it has acquired Denver-based Energy Acuity, which has specific expertise in data and intelligence for the renewable energy industry.
Energy Acuity has tracked and catalogued thousands of renewables projects leveraging hundreds of data sources across North America for more than a decade, Enverus said in a statement.
“As energy markets rapidly evolve and investments in renewable generation increase, the need for analytical solutions to capitalize on this opportunity will also grow,” said Manuj Nikhanj, president of Enverus.
Energy Acuity founder Brian Graff said being part of Enverus will allow his company to incorporate multiple new data sets and leverage analyst and data science teams of more than 200 people.
“The market for renewables-focused data, insight and predictive analytics is clearly growing and our customers continue to signal that more advanced solutions are critical to maintaining a competitive edge,” Graff said
The deal’s financial terms weren’t disclosed.
With the addition of Energy Acuity’s employees, Enverus, based in Austin, Texas, will have 135 people in its Denver office.
Bernadette Johnson, based in Denver and recently promoted to senior vice president of power and renewables at Enverus, will oversee the integration of the companies.
