This top-spec variant of the Carens seems to be equipped with the 1.4L turbo-petrol engine mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The 7-speed DCT variant of the Kia Carens has been spotted sans camouflage.

The Carens was unveiled just last week and is due to go on sale early next year. It is essentially a 7-seater version of the Seltos and will compete with the Hyundai Alcazar.

The car seen in the spy images appears to be the top-spec variant equipped with LED headlights, dual-tone alloy wheels and electric folding ORVMs. Inside, the Carens gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control and ventilated front seats.

The Kia Carens will be offered with the same powertrain options as the Seltos. These include a 1.5-litre petrol producing 113 BHP and 144 Nm, a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol with 138 BHP and 242 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel that puts out 113 BHP and 250 Nm.

The Carens will be offered with a wide range of transmission options including a 6-speed manual, iMT, CVT, dual-clutch automatic and torque convertor automatic.
